BPC-157 + KPV | Gut Restoration From the Inside Out

You eat well, take your supplements, do everything you’re supposed to – and your digestion still feels off. Bloating, inflammation, unpredictable energy, a gut that never quite settles. When your digestive system isn’t working, nothing else works the way it should either. BPC-157 + KPV was built for exactly this.

Nurturing Your Gut

Two Peptides. One Formula. Built for Your Gut.

At YoungerMeMD, our oral gut restoration protocol combines two peptides, BPC-157 and KPV, into a single compounded formula. They are thought to act through complementary mechanisms, although the combination has not yet been studied in clinical trials.

BPC-157 is a synthetic 15-amino-acid peptide based on a protein fragment found in gastric juice, and it is stable in human gastric juice. In rat studies, BPC-157 given by mouth or by injection has healed ulcers, fistulas and other gut lesions and shown blood-vessel-forming (angiogenic) activity; these effects have not yet been confirmed in controlled human trials. However, anecdotally, positive patient outcomes are noted.12

KPV is a tripeptide derived from alpha-MSH (alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone), one of the body’s own anti-inflammatory regulators.3 In cell and mouse studies, KPV reduced inflammatory signaling and pro-inflammatory cytokines, and KPV given in drinking water reduced experimental colitis in mice. It has not yet been tested in people with IBD, Crohn’s disease or colitis.45

Together they are intended to address both tissue repair and inflammation.

The combination itself has not yet been studied in clinical trials.

What Our Patients Notice

Response varies, and controlled studies have not yet established how quickly this formula works. Here’s what they tell us.

My gut finally feels settled

The chronic background of bloating, discomfort, and unpredictability that patients have normalized over years begins to ease. Patients describe a qualitative shift – a digestive system that is no longer the thing they have to manage around every day.

Some patients report better energy and digestion; these are individual reports, and effects on nutrient absorption have not yet been studied.

Some patients report feeling less inflamed overall; whether BPC-157 + KPV reduces systemic inflammation in people has not yet been studied.

Gut-associated lymphoid tissue is estimated to make up almost 70% of the entire immune system. Whether BPC-157 + KPV improves food sensitivities, immune reactivity or frequency of illness has not yet been studied in people.6

The gut and brain communicate in both directions, through the vagus nerve, the immune system and gut microbes, and this axis is being studied in anxiety and other conditions. Effects of BPC-157 + KPV on mood, cognition or energy have not yet been studied in people. Anecdotally, though, patients do report positive outcomes.7

Chronic GI problems – whether from IBD, IBS, post-antibiotic changes, or long-term dietary factors – can be persistent and hard to resolve. BPC-157 + KPV is intended to target tissue repair and inflammation, but it has not yet been tested for these conditions in clinical trials.

Does This Sound Like You?

The BPC-157 + KPV oral formula tends to be a strong fit for patients whose GI symptoms are chronic, treatment-resistant, or clearly connected to broader health issues they haven’t been able to fully resolve.

You may be a good candidate if you:

  • Deal with chronic bloating, gas, or GI discomfort that dietary changes haven’t fully resolved
  • Have been diagnosed with IBS, IBD, Crohn’s disease, or ulcerative colitis
  • Suspect or have been told you have intestinal permeability (leaky gut)
  • Are recovering from prolonged antibiotic use, GI illness, or a period of significant dietary stress
  • Have food sensitivities, chronic immune reactivity, or autoimmune conditions with a GI component
  • Notice that your energy, cognitive clarity, or immune function seems tied to how your gut is doing
  • Want to strengthen your gut foundation as part of a comprehensive longevity or hormone optimization protocol

Our provider team will evaluate your GI history, inflammatory status, and full health picture before any protocol is recommended. Nothing is prescribed without a complete clinical assessment.

Our Foundational Assessment is where it starts. It gives us – and you – everything we need to build the right plan.

Questions We Hear All the Time

What is KPV and why is it combined with BPC-157?

KPV is a tripeptide derived from alpha-MSH, one of the body’s own anti-inflammatory signaling molecules. In cell and mouse studies it reduced inflammatory signaling and experimental colitis, but it has not yet been tested in people with IBD, Crohn’s, or colitis. BPC-157 has promoted healing of gut injuries in animal studies. The combination has not yet been studied in clinical trials.45

The BPC-157 + KPV formula is taken orally – typically as a capsule, once daily or as directed based on your protocol. It is designed to work locally within the GI tract, which is why the oral route is the appropriate delivery method for gut-specific indications.

Injectable BPC-157 enters systemic circulation and is primarily used for musculoskeletal injuries, tendon and ligament repair, and neuroprotection. Oral BPC-157 + KPV works locally within the GI tract and is specifically designed for gut restoration, mucosal healing, and GI inflammation. There are different delivery methods for different clinical goals.

Response varies, and controlled studies have not yet established a timeline for this formula; your provider will review your progress at follow-up visits.

KPV has reduced inflammation in mouse models of colitis, but it has not yet been tested in people with IBD, and neither KPV nor BPC-157 is an FDA-approved treatment for Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis.35 That said, patients with active IBD or on immunosuppressive medications should always disclose their full history and current treatment plan before starting any peptide protocol. Our provider team will assess appropriateness individually.

Human safety data are very limited: BPC-157 has been evaluated only in a few small pilot studies, and the FDA reports it has not identified any human exposure data for KPV.85 At YoungerMeMD, this formula is never prescribed without a full evaluation and ongoing monitoring by our provider team.

Yes. The BPC-157 + KPV formula integrates naturally alongside hormone optimization, DefendMe for systemic immune support, and other peptide programs. Your provider will consider how your gut health fits with any other therapies you use. Every protocol is built individually by our provider team.

This program is offered through YoungerMeMD’s membership-based model, which operates outside of traditional insurance. Your membership includes physician oversight, ongoing protocol management, and the kind of personalized attention that insurance-based care isn’t designed to provide.

Safety & Considerations

Human safety data for BPC-157 and KPV are very limited: BPC-157 has been studied only in small pilot studies, and no human exposure data for KPV have been identified by the FDA.85 Some patients may notice mild GI adjustment during the first one to two weeks as the gut environment begins to shift. These effects are typically self-limited.

Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not use this formula. Always inform your provider about all current medications – particularly immunosuppressants, biologics, or GI-specific prescriptions – before starting any peptide protocol.

A whole-food diet, adequate hydration, stress management, and quality sleep all support digestive health and should be part of any gut-health plan.

A complete assessment of:

This establishes the right gut restoration protocol for your picture and identifies whether additional pairing protocols will amplify your results.

RECOMMENDED ADD-ON TESTING FOR GUT RESTORATION PATIENTS

For the most complete picture of gut health, our provider team recommends considering the following specialty tests alongside your Foundational Assessment. These can be added directly from the payment page at the time of booking:

GI-MAP Stool Analysis + $404

Measures pathogens and bacterial balance in a stool sample, which may help your provider understand possible contributors to your GI symptoms. Highly recommended for all gut restoration patients – knowing what is in your gut determines how we build your protocol.

Wheat Zoomer Panel + $300

Measures wheat- and gluten-related antibodies and markers some labs associate with intestinal permeability; results should be interpreted alongside your symptoms and history. Establishes a baseline to measure improvement against over the course of your protocol.

Heavy Metals Testing + $89

Screens for elevated heavy metal levels, which your provider may consider for patients whose symptoms have not improved with other approaches. At $89 this is the lowest barrier add-on and one of the highest value for resistant cases.

TruHealth Micronutrient Testing + $375
