Specialty Testing Guide › TruAge Biological Age Testing
If you live in the Philadelphia area, TruAge is ordered through YoungerMeMD's clinic in Conshohocken, Montgomery County, as an add-on to your first assessment. You can have the assessment in person or by telehealth if you are located in Pennsylvania, and the result is reviewed with a clinician as part of a wider plan.
The test itself uses a blood sample. Our team explains how your sample will be collected when the test is ordered, and the review that follows matters more than the number on the page.
Key takeaways
- TruAge is ordered as part of an assessment, either in person in Conshohocken or by Pennsylvania-only telehealth.
- Sample collection details are confirmed by our team when the test is ordered.
- Results are read alongside your history and standard labs, not on their own.
- People with new symptoms, or who live outside Pennsylvania and need telehealth, should start elsewhere.
Step 1: the assessment
Every patient starts with a foundational assessment: a full review of your symptoms, history, goals and baseline labs. There are two options at checkout on our payment page, the Peptide Assessment at $599 or the Hormone Assessment at $724. TruAge is not listed there as an add-on, so ask our team to include it in your order. The clinic does not publish a TruAge price, so ask our team for current pricing.
The payment page says most patients start without specialty tests, and that is often sensible. If your clinician thinks TruAge will add something, it can be part of the plan; the aim is the tests you need, no more, no less.
Step 2: the sample
TruAge uses a blood sample analyzed by TruDiagnostic, the lab that makes the test. The lab's provider material describes a finger-stick blood kit returned by prepaid mail.1 Ask our team how your own sample will be collected, and whether any other bloodwork will be drawn locally at the same time.
A few practical points help any repeat comparison later. Test when you are well rather than during an infection or right after surgery, and keep conditions similar if you test again.
Turnaround time is not something we publish. Ask our team when to expect your results visit.
Step 3: the results visit
Interpretation and planning are included in membership, which costs $279 a month and includes 3 to 4 in-person or virtual visits a year plus support between visits. Test kits are billed separately.
At the visit, your clinician goes through the summary page, your pace of aging and any organ-system ages that stand out, then compares them with your standard labs. TruDiagnostic itself says TruAge is not a diagnostic test and should complement clinical evaluation, so the conversation is about priorities, not diagnoses.1 For a preview, see how to read a TruAge report.
In person or telehealth?
- In person: our office is at 125 East Elm Street, Suite 201, just outside the city.
- Telehealth: available only to patients located in Pennsylvania.
Both routes lead to the same assessment, test options and results review.
Who tends to find it useful
TruAge fits best when the basics are already known: your blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and weight are measured, routine screening is up to date, and you want an extra baseline for a longer-term plan. Some people find a measurable number helps them stick with changes. Others have a family history of early heart disease or dementia and want one more data point to discuss. In each case the value comes from what you and your clinician do with the result, not from the test alone.
What to expect from the number
Expect a useful prompt, not a verdict. DunedinPACE, the pace-of-aging score, was linked to later illness, disability and death in research cohorts, which is why it is worth reading carefully.2 But individual results carry noise: older clock designs gave answers up to 9 years apart on replicate measurements of the same samples.3 A small gap from your calendar age is rarely worth acting on alone.
Who should go elsewhere first
- New or worsening symptoms: see your primary care doctor for a standard workup. If symptoms are severe, call 911.
- Outside Pennsylvania: our telehealth is limited to patients located in the state.
- Looking for a diagnosis: TruAge does not diagnose any condition.
- Routine screening overdue: blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes and cancer screening come first.
